Guidelines for Presenters

Guidelines for Oral Presentation 

 

Presentation time

To ensure the program runs to time, we ask that you please keep your presentation to no more than 15 minutes (12 min presentation + 3 min Q&A).

Speakers’ Preparation Desk

Please bring your presentation on a USB stick with you. All speakers are requested to upload their presentation and check their audio-visual presentations with the technician at the Speakers’ Preparation Desk in the John Clancy Foyer, next to the registration desk at least 4 hours before their presentation starts.

Alternatively, you may upload your oral or lightning presentation online via Dropbox. This option is recommended for anyone presenting on Monday morning.

Instructions:

  1. Save your PowerPoint presentation with the following filename convention:  [last name]_[ first name]_[ session number].ppt. For example, Taylor_Elizabeth_Session_4.2.ppt

  2. Access the following dropbox link

  3. Select ‘Choose from computer’, locate the saved file on your computer and press ‘choose’, to complete the upload process 

  4. After you upload your presentation you will receive a confirmation email. You will not be able to obtain further access to edit or remove your presentation 

The Speakers’ Preparation Desk will be open from Sunday 4 February from 10:00am until 4:00pm. We strongly advise to upload your presentation as soon as possible to avoid technical difficulties. All of the rooms at the UNSW operate in a 16:10 ratio.

Guidelines for Poster + Lightning Lectures

Presentation time

To ensure the program runs to time, we ask that you please keep your presentation to no more than 3 minutes. It should consist of 2 Powerpoint slides. No more than 2 slides will be accepted and we require Powerpoint format so that all LL slides of the session can be merged.

Speakers’ Preparation Desk

Please bring your presentation on a USB stick with you. All speakers are requested to upload their presentation and check their audio-visual presentations with the technician at the Speakers’ Preparation Desk in the John Clancy Foyer, next to the registration desk, at least 4 hours before their presentation starts.

The Speakers’ Preparation Desk will be open from Sunday 4 February from 10:00am until 4:00pm. We strongly advise to upload your presentation as soon as possible to avoid technical difficulties. All of the rooms at the UNSW operate in a 16:10 ratio.

Presentation details poster session 1

Session 1 posters must be displayed from Monday 5 February 9:00am until Tuesday 6 February 5:00pm at the Mathews Pavilion of UNSW.

Session 1 presenters are asked to stand by their posters on Monday and Tuesday from 3:45pm until 4:45pm.

All posters must be removed from display after poster session 1 on Tuesday 6 February at 5:00pm. The AMOS ICSHMO 2018 Conference Organising Committee takes no responsibility for posters that are not collected by this time. 

Presentation details poster session 2

Session 2 posters must be displayed from Wednesday 7 February 9:00am until Thursday 8 February 5:00pm at the Mathews Pavilion of UNSW.

Session 2 presenters are asked to stand by their posters on Wednesday from 11:00am until 11:30am and on Thursday from 3:45pm until 4:45pm.

All posters must be removed from display after poster session 2 on Thursday 8 February at 5:00pm. The AMOS ICSHMO 2018 Conference Organising Committee takes no responsibility for posters that are not collected by this time.

Poster board

Posters can be affixed to the poster boards with velcro. If necessary, velcro can be obtained from the AMOS ICSHMO 2018 Conference registration desk, in the John Clancy Foyer.

Each poster has been allocated a unique identification number to indicate where it should be hung in the display area — please note, you are required to hang your poster in the allocated position. As you prepare your poster, please follow the attached guidelines for creating a poster.
